Hi I have the TD414G and have used the video output cables to feed monitors on my rear headrests but it only seems to output in black and white whilst the video plays in colour on the TD414G unit? I know the monitors are ok cause I can connect them to a portable DVD player and my video camera and will then play in colour but not when connected to the TD414G unit?? Any ideas?Cheers

Your problem should be caused by the TV system. Please switch to DVD mode and press the Setup button on your remote control to enter DVD Settings. Then you will be able to change the TV system. |

Hi Thanks for the reply Andy.
I've seen the menu (It's described on page 19 of the manual??) but my problem seems to be that the only option I have is the selected NTSC and there doesn't seem to be any other options to select PAL ??
 Kind of need this to work as going away on Sat and the kids are already driving me mad about watching old films??

If so, please check whether your headrests have NTSC TV system. you just need to set your headrests they same TV system as your TD714G. |

Thanks for the reply but there isn't any setting to change type from PAL to NTSC on my headrest screens
 Why do my instructions say I can change between NTSC and PAL but can't and is there any way to fix this as everything in this country is in PAL??

I just consulted our factory and they told me that the PAL system on TD714G was unstable so it had been cancelled. But the instructions haven't been updated. As some headrest screens could be changed from PAL to NTSC, they hadn't paid attention on this problem.
Please don't worry, we have asked our factory to make a stable PAL system for TD714G. They told us that they might need about 25 days to finish it. Then we will provide you the upgrade software.

so this means i wont be able to play DVD's/sd card/usb videos on my TD601 via rear screens... ? as screen colours are wrong...
how hard could it possibly be to fix this>? my old xtrons unit worked fine.... TD712...

Firmware update is not available, but in the launch of new models , the feature will be updated.
Such as TD695GD, it has built in dvb-t tuner.
Or you may add an external dvd-t tuner for your present unit.

... the Digital signal is still on the VHF / UHF frequencies though... a software update is all thats required to solve the problem... a way to translate that signal into pictures / sound...
the uk has turned off most of, and will turn off all analogue signals sortly... this means that the analogue tv function is now redundant in this system for us...

Xtrons develops its products for all over the world, thus the function of analog TV which is still being popular in some countries could not be eliminated for the present. Xtrons also has sorted out the solution to sell external digital TV box for certain countries, also the external one owns better signal reception than internal one. What's more, units with bulit-in digital TV tuner is also being launched. |

As for the PAL system problem of TD601, I'm so sorry to tell some good news and some bad news.
The upgrade software is available, but... it needs specific equipment to connect PC to process.
That is to say, your unit needs to be returned to Xtrons RD Department which is located in China and they will upgrade it for you.

OK emily, i tell you what... Get onto Palpal, and order me a postage label to print... xtrons pays for this label... then i will post to china... otherwise ill be contacting my credit card company... as the unit isnt fit for purpose... - i will then do what i should have began with... pay the reletively little extra amount and get a nice pioneer system... one with REAL customer service provided...
