Ahh ok, that explains a lot - What operating system is it then and what options do I have for GPS software to run on it ?

Thanks in advance

hi there i need some help please. i have a td730a and i upgraded the mcu and now the front buttons dont work and theres a high pitch noise alone with no volume. do you happen to have the reset files or factory mcu file to fix this problem? along with that this may be a little off subject but after i get this problem resolved i would love to figure out how to get full bluetooth access so i can connect to a odb2.

This seems to be just a collection of MCU configuration sets, which you then can choose in the "Model choose" menu (in the extra settings).

The file I'd need should be named: 4bf18a00-297a-11e3-ab19-000c29ba27c0
This is the actual firmware (containing already the correct config for the TD730A.

If you have an early model TD730A it is not possible to conenct Via BT you will need to purchase a WiFi OBD adapter

i seemed to figure it out. (thank god) i found the right MCu file on one of the xda forms. as far as the BT to odb2 goes the reseller said it only works with there obd2 dongle witch i find very hard to believe being as android is basically linux. is does have BT im able to connect to it with my phone and play music and calls from my phone. im able to get the BT obd2 to pair but i cant seem to get it to connect? and ideas or pointers on that? i would love to have live feed from the torque app on this TD730A

Hi

Not sure on this one, I know the early TD730A did not have BT connectivity for anything other than a mobile handset.

Have you tried a WiFi adapter?

We always recommend the Xtrons OBD01 as this is our Dongle tired and tested but in theory any dongle should work.

Have you tested the adapter on another device to make sure it is not the device that is faulty.

HI

Hmmmmmmm, it is but a tricky one. Sooooooooooooooo many variables.

Ok.....
The device will connect to your handset but not communicate with the vehicle.
The device cannot be found by the TD730A

Final suggestion before writing the Dongle off as FUBAR is to test it with the mobile handset and a different make/,odel of vehicle see if you still have communication issues.

To be considered, is your version of TD730A compatible with BT OBDii? Can the Bluetooth be used to search for devices or can the unit only be searched for?

If the unit cannot be used to search for BT devices you will need to find a suitable WiFi OBDii adapter. If the unit can be used to search devices then you are more than welcome to try the Xtrons OBD01 linked below

The high pitch noise - so many memories of my desperation :D
Yeah, the MCU you flashed came from me ;-)
Regarding Bluetooth I think I can answer that:
The Bluetooth Module is a BC5 model, which cannot communicate with OBD2 dongles. Bluetooth and radio are running completely detached from Android and they are just interfacing with the MCU, which in turn presents just some functions to Android. This explains why you don't see the Bluetooth Settings and hear radio from the moment you turn your key.

What you can use if you want Torque is: Wifi OBD2 or USB OBD2, see xda for some info on that.

Cheers
